Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have taken the world by storm when it comes to hairstyles. With both women leading their careers with a bold look that their fans love, these two beauties are forces to be reckoned with. Here are a few pointers on the hairstyles they have been seen in.
American Idol Hairstyles - Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson has gone from a straight and medium hairstyle to wavy and long with different colors in between. For the straight and medium hairstyle she has worn just above the shoulders in 2007, simply use a straightening iron or a blow dryer with a round brush followed up by wax and smoothing shine to create the ideal sleek look. For the wavy medium hairstyles such as the one she wore to the 41st Country Music Awards, curling the hair all over in thick and loose curls then using spray gel and wax to hold the look will work. Simply run the fingers loosely through the curls for separation, and then spray on a layer of hairspray to hold.
American Idol Hairstyles - Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood has always worn a long and wavy or long and curly hairstyle since her first appearance on American Idol. The Idol scene has added so many possible looks to the industry since its start, it’s no wonder that some of the most popular females from the show have soared into fashion icons. Carrie’s flip ends on the long straight style she wore to the Grammy’s can be recreated by using large hot rollers and a blow dryer. Simply blow dry the hair straight after applying mousse and smoothing shine, then roll the ends in large hot rollers. Allow the rollers to cool, remove and run fingers through the curls. For the curly long hairstyle worn at the BMG after Grammy party, the half up and half down style Carrie wore went over well. Simply blow dry and use the curling iron to create the luxurious curls. The bump at the crown is made by teasing, and then pulling half of the front locks into a ponytail at the crown and securing.
